In June 2014 the Dutch were under the spell of the World Cup in Brazil. When the tournament began few people had confidence in the Dutch team, but after the first game against Spain was won everybody suddenly thought winning the World Cup may be achievable. For dixons we seized the momentum and started the campaign ‘Win de helft’. Anyone who bought something at Dixons in the period of the tournament would get a refund for half the purchase price if the Dutch team won win the World Cup.
